Ragin' Kelly Kick-Ass

As the Real World looms on the horizon, I bow to the mercy of a seasoned veteran educator next week. I begin student teaching in a first grade classroom with a very, well, we will say "spirited" teacher and I must say I feel like a little school girl. "Will the kids like me?" "Will I make any friends?" "Do I have to bring my own lunch?" Funny how four years of preparation do not feel like nearly enough to suffice. I'll just look confident and perhaps, with a breath mint in my mouth and "teacher" clothes on my back, I'll get through. Poor kids, won't know what hit 'em.
The holidays were the same as usual and the family is still as normal as ever. Although, my 20 year old cousin did get himself engaged over Christmas and my reaction was..."Really? Huh." Of course I congratulated and whatnot but, damn, make me look bad why don't you? Nah, no one can tame this elusive minx...hence the subject of this entry (also a nickname Neal gave me, how sweet...we're weird). I went to Louisville and saw my boys briefly and they seem to be doing well. They need to heat that house up though. I saw Tiff and made her smile, which is my ultimate goal since her life is insane, and hung out with Lou and Stu (my folks) enough to make them realize just what kind of daughter they had molded. I swear I am a milk-man baby as I don't really seem to "fit in" with my family, but I make their dull lives interesting. Spent New Years in Evansville with some friends and it was fine except I never seem to drink enough.
I'm alright, need to work out, but whatever. Reading romance novels like an unhappy forty year old housewife and watching seasons one and two of Scrubs is what has been keeping me busy over break. Yeah, laugh all you want but I'm happy and I know you do random stuff just like me to pass the time but don't judge! Hope everyone is well and had themselves some holiday fun.
