I have not made speedy progress on The Daphne Project. I'm at the point where I need to print it out and edit and fill in and flesh out before going forward. I'd like to write two more chapters before that happens. My original goal was to have a first draft by June. I'm not sure if I'll make that mark, and I'm okay with it. Why? My New Year's Resolution was Balance, and so far I'm acheiving it. Instead of writing every single day (or even every other) on TDP, I've reworked a short, written flash fiction piece, and sent both out into the wild. Also, I've been reading, knitting, gaming, internetting, and spending time with my husband.
Not all progress is measurable by metrics.
Admittedly, if I got a book deal my Balance would need to tip more to the writing side. While I welcome that stress, for now I'm okay with a more leisurely pace.
