I got to 47,000 words today. The ending is rushed, but I'm going to fix it and then go through the whole manuscript and fix the obvious continuity errors, clean up the prose, add in the description I always seem to gloss over, and make sure I tied up all the loose ends. I hope to have it out to readers by the end of the week.
So I didn't hit 15,000 words over the weekend. I hit just over 9,000, which is not too shabby for three day's work. Yesterday I barely got 1,000 words because I felt almost hungover from the 5,000 the day before. Eyestrain, me thinks.
While this is at reader's homes I'm going to work on the zombie short story. Who knows, it might even turn into a novel I can submit to
Night Shade Books. I'm not going to push it, though; I just want to tell the story and we'll see what comes of it. You got a zombie novel floating around? Give
this a look.
My goal is to have Through the Portal out in agent-land by the end of the September. Barring any major errors in my manuscript, I think I can make it happen.
