Well. It's kind of annoying, yet kind of exhilerating, when you read your own poetry and don't remember writing bits of it, and cannot for the life of you remember what on earth you meant by:
Blue lies, up and down
Sacrifice to gain the crown
The morning's sun, the nighttime's stars,
I fell behind with dreams.
June-
Surfing through my livejournal posts of this year, I notice the length of them. I notice that many are lengthier than I am used to finding when surfing back through posts.
I don't have time to reflect on that now, because I'm thoroughly distracted by my dad and the news spilling from his mouth. He's bumping into and catching up with old friends, and I can only hope this becomes a regular thing.
July-

I took photos the other night, from a volcanic rise that overlooks Auckland city. I had no tripod and couldn't be bothered hunting around in my camera for the shutter speed control, so couldn't get photos of the crater itself, but took many of the views and of little surprises along the way. The maori that once lived in the area, they believed the original inhabitants of (Mt Eden) were fairies. My jacket needs to be sent to the cleaners, for it got caked in deliciously fertile mud as I slipped trying to climb places I wasn't meant to be climbing. I was covered, head to toe, in the darkest sodden silt I've ever drawn my fingertips through. So smooth, just like fingerpaint.
September-
Wendy's back in Neverland; a grown-up among the boys. She (s)mothers them with flirtation and flattery, adn lets them have their way with her.

I am half-strolling, half-pacing on my way back to the hostel after a 15 minute swim in the Lagoon, 6.30am in the morning. It is now 7.30am and the sun is getting almost high enough to furthere sear my already red shoulders.
I am in Cairns. I am in Cairns and swimming again.
November-
It is raining in Auckland; the day is just another rolling on from the last. Like 'play-doh play-thing' - flexibility and malleability becomes gritty with dust and glitter, and grey with the oils from my palms.
December-
I have put writing about my Auckland adventures on the backburner.
This house is so stale.

I have almost finished putting the finishing touches to the journal i took with me to NZ. I need to buy a new one to fit my lockable cover, before leaving for Brisbane.
