Rule of Canoeing:

Aug 10, 2005 22:58

It had been a long time since I went canoeing. I think I had forgotten some of the rules.

1. Canoeing = sunburn; lost sweatshirts; swimming cell phones; capsized canoes; playful splashing; bumper boats; cuts, scrapes, and bruises; sore muscles; swimming in Arctic waters; blisters; and several other elements that might, in some configuration OTHER than what is created by canoeing, have a place in the grander scheme of Hell.

That pretty much covers the rules. Totally repealed the original first rule of canoeing: "DON'T STAND UP", because I successfully completed a most amazing manuever without so much as making the boat wobble. GO ME.

I had a really good time though, despite all the difficulties we had. Falling asleep on the ride there, three- and four-way party boats, "RAMMING SPEED!!!", running into Pat and Ken more times than I can count, letting OTHER people do the work for awhile, racing, FINALLY becoming expert canoers on the last hour of the trip, eatting at "Pompeii's", finding appetizers on Nick's chair, finding a "moth" in our pizza, a trillion flies that also partook in our dinner, falling asleep on the way home. Good times. But now I am extremely exhausted from all of my fun, and will now sleep. NIGHT!!!
