The Third Floor Lifestyle

Aug 24, 2009 19:34

This weekend, I moved into a new apartment on the third floor of my apartment complex. Same complex, different apartment, no roommate. Thus far, I have found this sphere of living to be the most agreeable living arrangement possible. It is quite ALL the time. No upstairs neighbor's child falling around. No DART rail going by outside the window. No neighbors walking their dogs right outside my window. No dogs barking at me when I sit on my porch.

Also, this apartment is more interior than my previous abode. I look out on a courtyard with trees, not a parking driveway/DART rail. I can even slightly see the pool. In fact, right now, my desk faces the porch window and looking out at the trees swaying slightly in the breeze, I cannot help but smile at this fantastic situation. It is completely quiet. No television. Only the humm of the ceiling fan above me :-)

My Mom helped me move in on Friday which I really appreciated (THANKS MOM!) and then we spent Saturday gathering various apartment essentials such as cleaning supplies, an iron, ironing board, cutlery trays, et cetera.

I've been slowly settling in and really enjoying the process.

Xavier came over for dinner tonight. I made broccoli & cheese casserole only I added chicken to the recipe to make it more of an entree. It was delicious and Xavier really enjoyed it. He's headed off to work out and I am heading to do my pilates in front of the television

In other news, my cousin got married the weekend before last and that was an adventure. It's an entry in itself, and I will write about it another time.
