Busy Bee...

Apologies for not updating sooner but it's been pretty busy these last few days! I got sent work on Friday evening that was due in for Sunday evening (thanks...) so I spend most of my Friday and Saturday working on that assignment. It really niggles me how these things happen..

Sunday was a little more relaxing yet stressful. Sander's laptop decided to stop working properly so he was not in the best of moods. I also had a few articles I needed to finish working on for Lifted Magazine so I worked on those while he spent hours playing Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas on the XBox. Have to admit that that game rocks! I've played previous GTA games but this one seems to be the best of them yet. Probably not everyone's kind of thing since it involves being a gangster pimp hanging with homies and indulging in drive-by shootings in another 'hood (the PC brigade would have a field day with this game!) and the radio stations you can listen to while playing the game are excellent. Good music, even better (and warped) radio commercials. ^_^

Yesterday (Monday) was also fairly busy as I needed to proofread my articles and tweak them a little. I have the feeling that I suck as a writer but I thought I'd still give it a shot.

Today's one of those blegh days. I woke up at nearly midday and still feel drowsy. That might explain the poor quality of this post. I have a few things I need to do around the house but lack the motivation or energy to do them. Despite sleeping so many hours in the last few days, I feel like a car wreck. I can't fall asleep any earlier than 4am these days and feel like my body is giving itself jet-lag without going anywhere. I had this same problem in China but that was mostly down to feeling depressed (if you'd seen the room I had, you'd know why!). I definately wouldn't say I was depressed here. Sure, I have my down days but who doesn't? I have some semblance of a job here, have a great apartment and living costs are cheap...not to mention a FANTASTIC bookstore in Taipei to waste all my earnings on. ^_^ So I've no idea what's prompting this terrible sleeping habit. My mum suggested that it might be because I don't do enough exercise and thus not tired enough to get to bed earlier. I think she may be on to something...

Anyway, it's time for a nice little 'pot noodle' lunch and then I might have a nice long shower to ease my mind a bit.

And while I'm at it, I thought I'd plug yet another new blog of mine, http://languagesonline.blogspot.com.

I'm using that one to review language learning websites I come across. Hopefully it might be useful to some people online although I have to admit the language course I reviewed so far as somewhat obscure (as Sander pointed out). Surely they are people out there who might want to learn Persian or Belarusian... ^_^
