I haven't seen Top Gun, but I watched a little bit of it in an electronics store where they were playing it on a widescreen TV with awesome speakers and stuff and I remember thinking, "Heeeey, Iceman!" So I got the context, a little, and now on to the squee.
1. AHHHHH WEELITTLEBOBBY SOCUTE. I love how young he is, and so hopeful and just trying to be funny and just so Bobby. 'Cause Bobby always acts as the foil to the older, more serious characters as the kid brother character, and you got the dynamics down perfect.
2. Scott/Jean/Warren! YESSSS. They are so perfect together. Warren as the playboy who tries to hide his unhappiness, Jean as the good girl with a serving of playful, Scott as the uptight super-serious one always feeling the responsibility of leadership, and they all play off each other. *SHIPS MAAADLY*
3. Hank!! Hank never gets any love. But I love how you expanded on his character -- super smart, and so mellow and a wisdom beyond his years that he was maybe forced to gain by his unusual mutation. Ahhh, Hank <3
4. The dialogue omg the banter, you have all their voices down perfectly and I. Love it. <3333333 The little jokes -- Warren's dirty jokes, how he's trying so hard, his jabs at Scott, and the nuances of meaning they inject into their conversations. So much love!
5. Also SOMUCHLOVE for having the original five together. This fic reminds me a lot of X-Men First Class, actually, which I loved. THIS. This, with the whole team as a family, all flawed and forgiving and funny, together, is what made the X-Men great. It's so heartwarming, and this fic was so refreshing to read, especially since the current Uncanny comics are going all out to arouse the sentiment of wtf-is-this-shit right now. IT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH THE X-MEN ALL OVER AGAIN! <333333

IT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH THE X-MEN ALL OVER AGAIN! This is insanely high praise indeed and it makes me so very very squeeful and happy to get this kind of reaction. This is so the reason I write fics heh.
1. Bobby! My favourite thing about Iceman is, no matter how old he is or whether he's 30 or 18 or 10, he's so very very entirely Bobby. I once read this description of him that was all "Bobby is as transparent with his personality as his powers make him." :: happy sigh :: He's just such a likeable character and I want to glomp him always. (Especially all tiny heh) (Also, as a little sister myself and the youngest in my group of cousins growing up, it may be a dynamic I am somewhat familiar with XD)
2. I just started reading first run X-Factor and Warren's always calling Jean gorgeous and Scott's being all broody-dorible and it was triggering my OT3 radar like whoa. I really want to find fic for it heh. :: flies ships flag heh ::
3. Hank! <3 Aww, I had to give Hank his own little subplot. Like you said, he never gets enough love. And I sort of adore him.
4. Heh, as much as I love how they expanded Warren's character and made him all broody and evil by the end, I also ridiculously adore lothario rich playboy Warren (with secret brooding). Banter makes me ridiculously happy. :)
5. I love team dynamics, and the original five are so very fun to work with (though I still may love the BOM more) anytime everybody all works together and there's tension but love but hiddeness but wonderful it makes me so happy.
