Feeling old...

May 02, 2010 02:40

My mom keeps reminding me I turn twenty this year... OMG, I feel ooooooold. It's seems just yesterday I was in secondary school...

Also, I kept planning on writing a massive post when I had the time and catch this journal up on all the stuff I'v been to lazy to post about but gave up... I can't remember the last time I posted something here... Lol, I am a grade A procrastinator, ask anybody, ask my neglected journal. XD

So in bullet point, here's what I've been meaning to write 'bout...

-The egyptian exhibit I went to visit with my friend. (we took pics of everything and I took notes on the artifacts' ages and stuff so we'll probably type them up some point in the coming week... So I'll put them up somewhere.)

-The wedding for a family friend I helped in decorating... I made little placeholders in the shape of butterflies that could be put on the wine glasses... I learnt copperplate calligraphy to write the names of all the vip guests on the reverse side of the butterflies and stuck japanese design paper on the front. Then I decided it was too easy and drew individual motifs and stuff on the side with the names, around the writing... And I also made 10 different butterfly shapes... In my defense, my mom originally told me there were only 50 or so VIPs, then she told me it was 85... THEN she told me it was more like a hundred... *rolling eyes* Yus... Sooooo didn't sleep for two days because she didn't get me the supplies until the VERY. LAST. MOMENT. Ahem. Yeah, I still feel the phantom hand cramps from that. XD

-Joined Facebook after nearly 8 years of standing up to peer pressure... *Sigh* The worst part is, I'm getting used to it... The horror. I still feel like a stalker and have been discovering a whole lot of new info about people I knew. Sexual orientation, boyfriend scandals, weird sports they like, etc... It's kind of creepy.

-My new obsession with these Anita Blake novels. I adore Edward the assassin of supernaturals... I think he's my second favorite character, Anita is first of course, for her wonderfully dark sense of humor. Did I mention the cover art is gorgeous? Abstract and gothic, but really good. I refuse to buy the other publishers because all of the books I got so far have red paper backs and it wouldn't do to have on sticking out from the rest.

-I added new bookshelves to my wall... it has cleared up some much needed space on my original bookshelves, some of my books can finally be taken off the floor! XD (I love my papery babies)

-My friend has asked me to help her decorate her room with a vintage theme. It's rather cramped and has pink walls so it's a bit of a challenge. But I am super excited! :D

-I got accepted into buffalo university and am going to take a course on communications in half a month. It is one and a half hours away from my house on a good day with low traffic, which means I'll have to start waking up at six or worse again... *groan*

-I learnt how to make little notebooks and have been stitching away... So far I've been using scrap paper but I shall start experimenting with prettier stuff soon.

-I joined an online art community and am feeling very inspired right now.

-I made my very first Artist Trading Cards for a swap through the above community.

Yup, that's about it. :)
