Cockroach Ninja Vs Me
Okay, I am feeling too victorious not to share this. Today, I went to sleep sometime in the late afternoon and was woken up roughly around midnight by something with wings flying/crawling up my right leg. I assumed it was a beetle or a moth and brushed it off with my left leg, turned over and started to go to sleep again.
Not half a minute later, the stupid insect flew up to my left ear and tried to make itself cosy in my hair. It touched my ear and I jerked upright. As I ran through my hair and the creature made it's escape, I declared out loud and to no one in particular: "You are dead."
I don't have much by way of furniture in my room and I like to sleep on my floor in a heap of blankets and pillows so I knew it would be relatively easy to spot the intruder. Yet when I switched on the light and looked around for the grey of moth wings or the conspicuous yellowish brown of the small beetles that sometimes fly in, I didn't see anything.
Awake and somewhat grumpy now, I went to my laptop and switched it on. After reading a few pages of comic, I turned at some noise in the corner and spotted a really dark cockroach nestled in my sewing kit. It hadn't been visible before because it blended in with the black slate floor...
You know how cheeky cockroaches can seem, they just lie there on one part of the floor right next to you (it was less than 30cm away) and dare you to kill them.
I got some tissue and stalked the thing, shaking the objects it landed on until it hit the floor. I also turned the fan on at full blast to discourage it from flying. When it ran out of places to hide, I pounced! And voila!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
