To quote a certain pirate, I love weddings! Today, I went to the wedding of my mother's friend's daughter. She used to keep me out of trouble when my mom brought me over to their house for adult church or life group meetings.
She's a classic Indian beauty and she looked really fantastic today. She got hitched to an Italian man who was rather choked up at the reception. I mean, he cried during his speech. Then his new wife came up to support him and he went: "look at the great support I have." And, like, everybody was all, 'awww'.
Everything looked amazing, though the actual marriage happened in Australia. The wedding photos were shown in a slide show and they were unbelievable. Every single emotion was conveyed. The song choice was pretty appropriate too. I was watching it and I couldn't stop commenting on how beautifully done it was. Apparently other people agreed because they asked for it to played again during the dinner.
It was sooooo sweet. *Happy sigh...*
I must ask the bride's mom for a copy of the slide show, it was so inspirational that I really want to use it for fodder for an art project of something. I mean, it's almost enough to tempt me to try my hand at classic portrait drawing, though I know I suck at it.
The tables were plain white with white roses as the center piece, I love the dark green leaves they used. I was awfully tempted to sort of swipe one into my deceptively small looking bag. Which can carry things like an over night change of clothes or two bottles of syrup. And it totally looks like it couldn't but it does. A small basket of flowers, no problem. But I resisted. AND AM IN THE MIDST OF REGRETTING IT NOW.
The wedding, lets get back on topic. Yus, the wedding. The beginning was just nuts, there was a performance by bangala dancers and their costumes looked great. The music was exceptionally lively and vibrant. Unfortunately, the majority of the audience were comprised of us staid Singaporeans, so only a few, myself included, clapped along. I bet an indian wedding with indian attendants would be something to see.
The bride, the groom, the family and the bride's maids all wore traditional indian clothes. It was so cool. Damn it, I should have totally worn my sari too. -_-
Well, I hope I get photo's from one of my mom's friends. I brought my camera, but the darn thing ran out of juice right when I wanted to snap a shot. Argh! Someone, somewhere, is laughing at me...
This may be awful of me but the wedding completely overshadowed my brother's birthday, also today.. He had his friends over until late afternoon, but I was asleep until like 5pm. They were unusually quiet, I must say. Either that or I was dead tired... I think it was probably me. Oh well, I don't know any of his friends and I gave him lot's of presents so, meh.
OMG the wedding! I want a fake wedding. I don't wanna get married, I just want a wedding. Lol.
