The countdown is underway... 2 more days left of medical school... EVER!
I had a great day today! I arrived at the hospital, got my free morning coffee from the doc's lounge, and wandered down to radiology. There I popped into IR where Ryan told me they were uber-slow today, but I should go hunt down one of the radiologists because they were going to do a Peds procedure at some point. Bonus!
So, I meandered down to ultrasound, where lo and behold, there was the radiologist in question. While I waited for him I went in on a few prenatal checks and my memories from being on my OB/GYN rotation last year rushed back. You see, I'd hide out in ultrasound many a day to avoid the loooooong and trying hours in my preceptor's office! And since I was there so often, I got to know the techs pretty well, a really fun bunch who are now making life that much more enjoyable.
So, anyway... finally I got to go up to the PICU (it's like returning to the mothership) and help out with a procedure. Then I found myself tagging along to the NICU to ultrasound an omphalocoele and then just hang out with the peds surgeon and my favorite resident. Tina told me about a bunch of cases they've had this month, and then just chatted about peds, the match, step 3, etc.
Other good news: my grandparents will be able to make my graduation after all, yea!
Tonight:
America's Next Top Model, of course. I saw on the promo that the models have to pose with giant hissing cockroaches wearing jewels (the cockroaches, not the models)! That and I saw teaser clips of the models falling off of the runway! Nice. You have to love obnoxious, unrealistic reality ploys.
