Trestin took me to see Colbie Caillat, as a birthday gift, on Wednesday. I finally declared that I think I am getting too old for these concerts because I get grouchy at all of the teens and their ridiculous ways. This is also when my height actually makes me sad. "Back in the day," we *always* used to love the rides at the Fair just before closing. The crowds thin out, but even better, the views on the higher rides are spectacular! I always loved doing the large ferris wheel as my last ride. And as an added bonus---often the rides aren't full and not many waiting. We often found ourselves riding repeatedly for no extra charge. The guy would just ask if we wanted to go around again! On the Ferris Wheel he would stop us at the top and leave us until someone wanted to get on. Only down side was most food vendors are closing.
Admittedly, I've only been to a few concerts, and I hate that the performers tend to look like little ants on the stage and I always wonder why I just don't watch it on TV at home since I end up watching the big screen a lot. BUT, there is something added when you're in a crowd with a lot of people---changes the whole feeling. When we went to the last Neil Diamond concert our seats were against the cement wall in the top section---it was really nice---no one could block our view, we were the highest point(well, when people stood up they "could" block our view). But having the wall behind us made for a comfortable seat---didn't have to worry about people behind us. Sport events are the same way.
Hey! Are those the "old people" seats???
Have fun in Anacortes---and call me if you find any 2" glass balls !!!
