I knew him a little bit. Not like best friends or anything, but it's weird to think that he died. I mean, he always seemed pretty healthy. He was diabetic, but I knew that. I'd known for years.
I remember Nels as John's old roommate. as the kick ass guy that worked the grill with dan. as the guy freshmen called 'Nails' because they didn't realize that his name was Nels. as the badass guy with the tattoos and a utilikilt. as diane's adopted little brother. as the subject of one of jacen's funnier lies. I remember that last one with a grin.
