Another year's gone by in a bat of an eye, and CNY is upon us yet again. Having the eve on a Wednesday meant a super long weekend for everyone - a blessing considering how it had fell on a weekend in recent years.

I had absolutely no plans for CNY, other than a gathering I initiated at my place on the 3rd day. The holidays was a welcoming break for me. Seeing pictures of friends' get-togethers on FB felt good, even though I was secretly quite happy I didn't have to do any of that rushing from house to house.

I chose to spend a couple of hours on the first day at IKEA, something I suspected few would do. And boy was I right! Other than the cafe which had a little queue, there were hardly any shoppers. Gleefully, I grabbed the items I needed, paid, and headed to the unusually quiet taxi stand. 6 stools, 1 toilet brush (yup), 4 plant pots, 2 pen-holders, and 1 mug was my loot for the day. Assembling the 6 stools while watching Miss Universe on channel 5 sounds like an odd thing to do on CNY, but I was glad I had a productive day.

The 2nd day was spent in the gym, home, then back to mom's for dinner. Had some pretty good laughs with my sis, bro in-law and nieces. Got back home that night, and aghast to hear from one of my nieces that the angpow I handed her had nothing inside! I could have sworn I stashed 2 $10 notes in there. Unbelievable! Anyway gonna get her another before CNY runs out.

Having the guys come over on the 3rd day was great. Loved the chats, noise, and laughter - something ain' too common at my place. Caught my neighbour staring as I opened the door for Marvin who arrived later. I wonder what her thoughts are, looking at the all-male cast. Haha!

And with that it's finally back to work tomorrow. Oh, how dreadful.
