I think people generally think of me as a nice and obliging chap. I honestly feel I am too (most of the time at least). However a type B personality is also sometimes construed as being meek, easy to lord over. As someone whose 20s are miles behind me, I do feel a need to act my age, and be accommodating to my younger peers; much like how an older brother should behave. An older person is expected to be more sensible anyway.
That said, there's a limit to everyone's threshold. Insolent brats who cannot exercise basic sense over their words deserve as much (or little) respect as these words have on others. While they may not mean it the way the recipient takes it, they need to understand that there're other people in the world. Not everything is about ourselves and what we deem fit.
