Someone has asked me to report on projects.
Hat and Scarf
Some random dude in my house is modeling the scarf and hat I knitted up from the Shetland I spun. He seems a bit dorky, but he looks cute in the goods. Perhaps I will keep him around for a while.
The yarn is not as balanced as I would like (notice the twist in the hat ribs), but it suffices for a first project.
Icelandic
God, our camera blows. It's grainy and the color is off, but you can get an impression of the icelandic I am spinning up. I decided to card the roving to get a bit more loft in the yarn. Although, the fibers are long enough that they are a bit long for my cards. I am hoping to make myself some long, opera-like fingerless gloves (arm warmers) and a headband out of this stuff. Perhaps accented by some amber-ish beads. We'll see.
Koolaid Yarn
Still spinning on that. I am dying my second pound of wool bit by bit and spinning here and there. It looks the same as before. Consistency, yo.
Sweater
So I decided to tackle a sweater. I am using a raglan cardi pattern from
cosmicpluto, which came recommended. It is top down so I can size as I go. See. Not far enough along to wrap up the arm holes yet.
The coolest part about this cardi is that the yarn came from the uber-awesome
bethmolnar. Thanks, Beth!
Mrs Beeton Wrist Thingies
And because I do not have enough frill in my life, I am knitting up
this pattern from knitty. I am using some leftover black mohair and
multicolor/fuzzy/glittery stuff. I'm not knitting in beads, because of the glitter, and cause I am a slacker royal.
Jacobs Wool Basket
Got the supplies and the plan. Nudge me on this one in 10 days to 2 weeks.
