Today was very up and down for me. Too many days are like that lately...
I tried my hardest to focus on the ups. Started reading Water for Elephants in the back yard (which I may have accidentally stolen from
bullyface and didn't realize I had -- sorry little sis, I'll have to remember to return it to you). Absolutely gorgeous day it was, sunny and warm but with a cool breeze, almost like being on the beach on the Cape. I really tried to push away the dread of the summer heat (successfully, mostly). When Andrew came home we biked to
Tijuana Flats (where I think I imagined seeing
psychicbooty for a split second, though later realized that it very well could have been him...) and brought our food to the park. We made friends with many squirrels and read our books for hours. We stopped at a fish store on the way home to look at tropical fish and coral (have I ever mentioned how much I've always loved clown fish? So many types of clown fish), then went to the grocery store to pick up some dinner and wine and came home to watch the first few episodes of
The United States of Tara, a show we've been wanting to watch since before it started but never got around to it so now the whole first season is On Demand. I quite like it so far.
I'm also really liking Water for Elephants, so I'm going to go read some more before I go to sleep.
By the way, I left out the down parts of the day. Sometimes it's just better that way.
