This is day 3 of my very bad headache. Left side of my head only, mostly in my jaw right now, but often in the temple as well. Yesterday was the worst, I mostly slept (when I could). Analyn let me borrow a few of her migraine pills (APAP/dichloralphenazone/isometheptene), been drinking lots of water, took a few super hot showers, used my heated lavendar eye pillow--nothing is helping too much, but today I am functioning better than I was yesterday (I'm awake at least, and got in a workout this morning).
I've had a few really good days lately. You know how awesome it is to see a really great and exciting movie as a kid, the kind of movie that just always sticks with you? Well, it's even more awesome to see that really great and exciting movie more than ten years later outside in a park with a group of friends (and lots of strangers) who all have similar emotions about the movie.
Yeah, watching The Goonies on Park Ave last Thursday was as fun as I was hoping it would be. The movie started late due to some technical difficulties with the sound, but even that was perfect because Ross was late but hardly missed anything. I made an abundance of pretzels, Louisa brought food and drinks and chairs, Missy and Sope brought candy. The weather was absolutely beautiful, not hot at all (maybe even cold, if you ask Missy) and slightly windy. There were a few little kids there, and people in Goonies t-shirts. The movie was paused when the trains went by, and we'd chit-chat until they passed. All in all, a very fun evening (even if my brother slept through most of it. Hey, at least he was there, right?)m. I think I couldn't help but feel happy all through the next day. Perhaps those kinds of gatherings should happen more often.
