Stardust Video and Coffee

Saturday evening Andrew and I went on a little adventure. I don't think the walk to the bus stop is even a full mile, but in the heat it seems like 5 miles (approximately 20 minutes of walking). Our timing was pretty good and we didn't have to wait at the bust stop long. We got one of the cute busses that they usually use downtown for the Lymmo service (if that means anything to anyone). After about 30 minutes we arrived at our destination: Rainbow Sno-Cones! I only recently discovered this place while hanging out with Cayce, her mom, and her grandma (and I am ever so thankful to her for it). I wanted Andrew to check it out as well, so we finally did. It was pretty guilt free too, since they have sugar free syrups (I had cherry, they were out of black cherry). Andrew got blueberry and cherry, and our flavor choices were reflected in our lips =D

After our treats we went to go hang out at Stardust Film and Coffe, but decided to first check out the ABC Liquors across the street, where Andrew bought his first alcohol ever! Not the first he's ever had, just the first he's ever bought. He got some Sake (which he tried last night) and I got some little bottles of red wine and a tiny bit of coconut rum.

Upon arriving at Stardust we checked out their video selection and then went to relax. I got a hummus plate because I was very hungry, and I made up for getting the sugarfree snow cone by eating tons of french bread AND getting an italian soda =/ Oops. At least I enjoyed it.
Andrew started reading Neverwhere (Neil Gaiman) and I played Final Fantasy Tactics (GBA) for a few. We moved from our table to the comfy couch and our friends Annette and Wally soon joined us (though I have no pictures to prove that we did actually have friends that night).

The drummer from Mecca's band, Brian, gave us CDs for his other band, Forever Dawn. Then Mecca showed up and soon we were being entertained by the lovely Mecca Nism and Her Rusty Tears.
As always, Mecca was awesome, as were her bandmates, Brian and Florizel. They put on a great show. She sang a bunch of old songs that I remembered from when Wedgie and I would attend her Beatnik Nights way back when, and she did a bunch of new stuff as well. Mecca has a beautiful voice and she's a great performer. We didn't have to beg her to give us a ride home because Annette and Wally helped us out in that department (thanks guys!). Overall, it was a great evening.
