Ok so I’ve been back to the gym quite a bit this week. I can’t manage to do a whole lot but at least I’m getting back into the habit of going. I got new insoles for my sneakers so maybe that will help.

I’m glad to say that even though I now have a television it remains in the off position most of the time, but I have been following The Biggest Loser. This is the first season I’ve ever watched the show. It really boggles the mind how they do their crazy workouts every day. How do you recover? Supplements, massages? I see ice wraps on a lot of knees. I do a heavy workout and I am in excruciating pain for days. Like I have to walk down stairs backwards and brace myself when I sit because I’m in so much pain.

I love my roller derby committee. I stopped by practice tonight to drop off the cooler and talked with a few of my hospitality committee members. I told them they’re doing fantastic. I appreciate them handling things since I can’t be around so much. In fact, if there is anyone who wants to be committee head they are welcome to it. They told me that things are going just fine, and they like having an experienced veteran’s name on their committee. So they have officially made me not just a figurehead, but a ceremonial figurehead! YES! Ceremonial figureheads do even less than plain figureheads.

Anyone seen the HBO series Rome? I LOVE it. It takes place just as Julius Caesar is taking Rome from a republic to an empire. It’s pretty much a prequel to I, Claudius which you blogkateers know I LOVE. Octavian, who is the emperor in I, Claudius is just a teenager in Rome whose scheming mother Atia (just as scheming as Livia) is pressing him into manhood in more ways than one. Rome also follows two soldiers whom the fates seem to have smiled upon. I heart you Netflix!
