Why do people talk about their musical taste loudly and in a pissy, sanctimonious tone in front of others they do not know? This doesn't make sense to me. I understand that everyone has their own taste and that most people think theirs is better than other people's...obviously, or it wouldn't be their taste. I get all of this. Still, why sit at a table with people you don't know and talk about how awful you think certain musicians/genres/whatever are and how only people with bad taste listen to such music? People like that deserve to be insulted. Sure there are songs I don't like, etc., but I don't go around saying that loudly to people unless I know they won't be offended. (Well I try not to)

This all came about today b/c a guy at work clearly was offended when a loud person talked about how much they hated a certain type of music, that just happened to be his fav. I felt for him b/c I've def. been there. People do stupid things.

On a side note, I'm def going through some sort of quarter life crisis. I don't understand why people work such long hours to get ahead. Ahead = A new title that brings with it more long hours and more money to spend on materialistic purchases. Lord knows you won't be spending quality time with the family, so the money must then be used to buy those people some happiness. I'm all about making money and providing for the family, making a living, being a bread-winner, whatever euphemism u want to go with...but damn, don't people want to get home to their kids, significant others, pets, whatever it is they have at home? Even if they don't have a family, don't u want a life outside of work? Friends, happy hours, tv, books, whatever. Hobbies are good. Bitter. Tired. Out of time.
