well, today was a soccer tournament day. the team im on has been practicing for only three weeks, thats just 3 practices! and this was our first game since november. The teams we were playing against are all select teams and P2 teams (P2 means premeir 2, even better than select) and here we are, just a rec team that plays three months a year. sooo yeah... our first game was at 2pm, the hottest time of the day x_x it was like 85 and we were in the sun sprinting and running around. we have new jerseys this year, we've allways been blue, but now we wear white with one blue stripe down the side. White is NOT a good soccer color.
1: it shows dirt and blood
2: its see through
3: when it gets wet it sticks to you and is STILL see through --;
4: in the sun the brightness of the white blinds me ><
5: it looks too clean, like we ought to be working in a hospital, not playing soccer.
anywho... first game is against a select team with some people from our school, all of the freshmen.er, sophmores now, i cant get used to calling myself a junior yet. so we really want to beat this team becuase they are the freshmen, grr, lol. but yeah... didnt work out that we. we lost 4-0. they were like passing the ball around in circles and doing drops and we were running around like it was monkey in the middle --; i played the whole fricking game, and got pretty tired. second game was later in the day and cooler and we were playing against a team that had creamed the team that had just beaten us. we still did okay for a rec team against a team that plays all year, we lost 6-0. i got to play a few different positions in the second game and did more running, fewer people faked me out.
it really freaked me out, i was running along side this girl who had the ball and she stopped really fast to try and fake me out but i stopped with her and put all my momentum and weight on my right leg. bad idea... its hard to explain, your leg bends up and down, but when i stopped my leg bent the oposite way, with my lower leg going up towards my thigh. it FUCKIN hurt, but amazing im okay o_o; it could have been worse, it didnt bend as much as i thought it had. also have a blisters all over the back of my feet from my shoes and socks.. which makes every step i take painful. woo! but i never got pulled out of the game. once in the second game i was out for about 2 minutes, but thats it. i played the whole hour for each game. it was still really fun, and by september, we're going to be really good playing against teams in our own league.
