24 weeks and It's a GIRL!

We finally found out that we are having a girl!

I'm so excited! A daughter... a tiny little girl to dress up so sweet and cute in the adorable little ruffle butts and tights, sparkly shoes but NO HEAD BANDS :-)

We went for the ultrasound on January 21, the day after Dean's 8th birthday. We were very excited because all three kiddos got to be there with us! (It was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, so they were off school) We were a little nervous because last time, baby j decided to hide her parts from us for the entire ultrasound! So we were crossing our fingers that baby would cooperate today (actually, mommy didn't care, but daddy and the little ones were DYING to know if it was a brother or sister)

So about 15 minutes into the scan (baby was moving like CRAZY) the tech told us that baby's legs were crossed...par for the course. This was ultrasound number 27, and every time, baby has been stubborn!!! She jiggled the wand around a little bit and then she asked us all for guesses... I guess girl of course, cuz I just knew. I had a very strong feeling, the same thing with nathan, that I was carrying a little girl. Danielle guessed girl also, Dean guessed boy, Daddy said he didn't care as long as it was healthy. Nathan said, "It's a girl. No wait, I change my mind, I dont care either, as long at it's healthy too." What a sweetheart. Then the tech paused for dramatic effect and said... "Well, Mom's instict was right! It's a girl!!!!" Of course, I yelled "yes!!! I knew it!" Dean said "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Daddy just smiled from ear to ear and gave me a biggggg kiss (which grossed out all three kids) and Nathan said "Yeah, but it is a HEALTHY girl?" :-) Danielle didn't say anything, she just burst into tears and hid her face in Mike's coat! It worried me a little so I grabbed her hand and we asked her what's wrong. She said (through sniffles and tears) "I'm just so excited!" Bless her heart... so of course then I started crying too! It was a very special moment for us and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

After that, the tech just had to finish up measurements, and baby was moving so much, she was having a hard time. She never ended up getting to see all the little toes on the right foot. but she said it's nothing to worry about. Baby's just really excited! She showed us a quick 3D/$4D shot of her face. It wasn't a good shot, because she's still so little, but I think she looked like Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch :-) Baby put her hand up in front of her face, and her ankles were crossed the entire time...She's already got a little attitude, just like her momma.

I can't wait to see what she looks like, and feel her soft skin, and smell the sweet baby smell. Shes going to get so tired of all the kisses from her family! I love babies so much, and the fact that we've waited SO long for this baby makes it all that much more special and exciting!!!! I wonder what kind of personality she will have? I can't wait to finally have a daughter, and for Nate to have a baby sister!!!! What an exciting time in our lives! Hurry UP, May 11th!!!!!
