I'm officially Mrs. Kelly Johnson!!! Wow! I'm so excited. :-) I'm so happy to be married to the love of my life. I couldn't ask for a better husband. He's so sweet and loving and he adores nathan. And nate loooves having a daddy.
We got married at the Bay County Courthouse. Even though it was kind of a shotgun wedding (lol) it was very sweet and romantic. Mike got my matching wedding band to go with my engagement ring, and it is soooo beautiful! I'm in love with it.
So we met there at the courthouse (I was at work, he was at home with the kids) I walked in the courthouse and they were standing in the hallway. Danielle was dressed up in a dress and fancy shoes, and both the boys had on jeans and cute little polos shirts. Of course, Mike looked handsome as usual. We went into this tiny room, and the woman went up to the podium. Nate and Dean shared a chair, and Danielle sat in the other one. We did the ring exchange, and I saw Mike's eyes start to well up with tears, and then when we were saying the vows, mine did too. I stumbled over my words cuz I was so nervous. And of course, I could hear Nate and Dean chattering like monkies and I had to turn and tell them to hush. lol. I've never felt more like a mom than I did at that moment, having to tell my kids to be quiet during my own marriage ceremony.
When it was done, and we kissed, I turned and saw Danielle with tears in her eyes! She had started crying during the ceremony! I fell in love with her all over again when I saw that! She called me her evil stepmother (a little joke we have) and then of course Nathan started crying and said that he wanted to get married too! The kids were so happy. Danielle coudn't stop smiling.
It was a very special day.
I can't wait to have our actual wedding next year. I will make sure to have something including the kids, cuz I think that would be every special to them.
I got my military id today and got nate and I entered into DEERS and DBIDS systems, so we have health insurance now! Yippieee!
Plus, we got Nathan into the Child Development Center, which is basically like a daycare. And he can even go to the PreK program there, so it's only gonna cost like $250 a month for childcare! That's super exciting. And once we live on base, it will be great to have the daycare sooo close to our house. It'll be great when Mike deploys again, cuz they're understanding about deployments and stuff like that and how it effects children.
So, it's been a great couple days. Hopefully we'll find out we're pregnant soon, and then we'll have everything we've hoped for this year :-)
Life is pretty perfect!
