RRJ Summer 2006 Originally uploaded by
Kellar. Emily, Jeremy and I just got back from the Ryerson Journalism program's magazine launch party, where we ate celery and crackers, drank expensive beer, and repeatedly (and in my case, surreptitiously) slipped complimentary copies of the magazine Jer and I are in into our bags.
The fact that I'm on the cover (bwah ha ha) of one of the issues somewhat offsets my embarrassment at having a doodle of Brad Pitt on an inside page that possibly looks nothing like Brad Pitt (see, I didn't realize they were gonna actually blow that one up--if it had been printed too small to make out, then it would have looked just fine). But in any case, I'm pretty jitterly pleased with how it turned out (or maybe it's the coffee), and my ego feels like a Zerg Overlord. I'm also glad Emily made me stay long enough to shake hands with the art director, as I normally tend to shmooze away from people, as opposed to with them.
I can't wait till the summer, when it actually comes out, because then I'm gonna go into Chapters and set it up next to The New Yorker and Time and take a hundred pictures of it.
