Crash-boom

Jul 09, 2007 04:41

Mid-day heat broke with afternoon rain, followed by a lovely evening and late night thunderstorms. Yay! There was one particularly long, rolling peal of thunder that started off with a gunshot boom, then a whole series of drum rolls and rumbles. I wish I had a recording of it.

I dragged my wise and sarcastic driving teacher out to dinner at Mary's, where we talked about mad travel plans and swapped gripes about work and I attempted to mindcontrol him into NPCing Madrigal. I think, sadly, that WoW has beaten me to the punch on the mindcontrol front, though he may be less resistant to the "go outside and play" theory than many other people I've attempted to recruit. (There hasn't been so much driving lately -- indeed, I've let my permit lapse (again), which I need to fix this week so that driving lessons can resume and ideally finish this summer.) Mary recognized me and said hi, and asked what I'd been up to, which has never happened before. I've never been a regular, and while I've been there more than usual recently, that's still at most once a month.

Eventually I'll write something about the HF Bar trip, which was fabulous and spoilarific and reset nearly all my stress counters to zero (which I particularly appreciate as I watch them tick upward again ... I think they increment less rapidly when I'm starting from a better state of mind).

outside, madrigal, self, food, friends
