Baking soda, seemingly a mild mannered kitchen staple with a fondness for cakes and cookies, is also secretly a potent weapon in the ongoing battle against mildew and soap scum. (I scrubbed the tub. It's not perfect, but it's much better, and by the time I'd rinsed the tub (and me) enough to find the spots I'd missed, a shower sooner was more appealing than another round of scrubbing, and I can do another round tomorrow.
