The vehicle man was not meant to drive
Fireworks are still very pretty and excessively loud. Either they've gotten brighter or my eyes have gotten more sensitive: some of the bursts, especially one type of green, hurt my eyes. I think I'd've happily skipped the loudspeakers and perhaps brought a radio. Mostly, it was a fine excuse to hang out with people outside.
While lounging on the grass waiting for the concert, we played a *very* silly drag racing card game with cthulhu mythos paint, which I've sadly forgotten the name of. Nice simple gameplay, terribly amusing card text and illustrations, flexible in number of players, portable. It needed two dice and lap tokens that didn't seem to be included. (We pressed another convenient deck of cards into service as both.)
