If the Green is Light the Cars Won't Stop

To the Thawing Wind

Come with rain. O loud Southwester!
Bring the singer, bring the nester;
Give the buried flower a dream;
make the settled snowbank steam;
Find the brown beneath the white;
But whate'er you do tonight,
bath my window, make it flow,
Melt it as the ice will go;
Melt the glass and leave the sticks
Like a hermit's crucifix;
Burst into my narrow stall;
Swing the picture on the wall;
Run the rattling pages o'er;
Scatter poems on the floor;
Turn the poet out of door.

I cannot believe the amount of homework Mr.B is giving us for the break. We have three packets, two essays, and the biography review. His homework makes up for all the homework I'm not getting from my other teachers. That doesn't count Miss Duma, who is giving us a list of 130-something words to make flashcards for. Can you imagine how tedious that is going to be? Teachers who give homework over vacation are sadists. That's it, no exceptions. It's so unecessary and it just ruins the whole break. School is really depressing lately, especially since all the ridiculous busy work is keeping me from actually learning anything.

Once again, I thought I was going to write more, but thinking about school has made me really mad. Well done Sweet Home.

On the bright side...bonding with my "family" was great (formidable, word 102). We went out to eat and had an egg hunt, and a silly string war. There was even a power outage and we all sat in the dark and talked. Maybe I do have some good stuff to talk about, but it will have to wait because the food is ready!
