Kel,What a beautiful, poignant story.Ani is so bewildered.Your description of Ani being broken and everything falling out of her when she hit the wall was excellent. Also, your description of Nadia's and esp. Jessica's subtle, brilliant acting in the scene in the mirror was wonderful.Outstanding. Thanks.

Sorry it took a little bit to get to this comment. Thank you! It was such a difficult moment for all of us, I think - it takes awhile to process. More so for the person to whom it's happened. Things scatter everywhere when a person experiences violence. Some you get back, some you don't.

It was an extraordinary scene. It was a real privilege to get to explore and deconstruct their mesmerizing work.
I think there's a lot to explore with these characters. And for the most part, I'd prefer to see them explored on the show itself. But it was pretty powerful to drop into Ani's head and fill in the gap between the fight and our first glimpse of her in ep 12. I think her arc in s3 is going to be devastating and beautiful.
This. Wow. Ouch. So poignant and it rings so true. Just beautiful in its intensity and raw ache. Pretty much what I saw in Ani in the scenes in ep 11 & 12.
Thanks. It's a very raw, intense moment and it felt important to capture that. Ani is in a very dark place, and I don't think she's getting out of it anytime soon.
That thread has been so carefully layered into place that I can't imagine them not giving it a big payoff. I think it may be deep into season 3, but sooner or later Gina will find out. Otherwise, "If you hurt her you'll answer to me" was nothing but an empty threat. I really don't see that happening.
