Halfway point for summer (At least for me)

Jul 29, 2008 11:55

So, I'm sitting here, with half of my body in a state of sore-ness....but I'll get into that more later.  Due to the rabid requests of "Oh, hows summer treating you?"......instead of me saying a good one liner like "it's fine", "it's good", "work", blah blah blah...I'd might as well go into some degree of detail for it.

Right after finals:  So moving out of my dorm wasn't as much of a hassle as I thought, bringing home some of the stuff earlier really cut down on the stuff I had to move...but not by much.  By the time I got home, I got too lazy to unpack em, so most of the stuff are still in the boxes I set up....what?  Easy repacking when i go back up for the fall.

After all that:  Just caught up with some friends, a lot of smash till dawns, a lot of the other jazz I usually do, and a lot of sleeping.  And eating.  And roaming craigslist for a job.  Lather rinse and repeat.  Ah and watched Euro '08.  I was pulling for Netherlands (RVP!) but I'm glad to see Spain won, (Go Cesc).

Oh, about the job thing, I actually found one, which was a relief, at Toscano's.  It's a relatively new restaurant in Bellevue.  I believe it's been open for just under three months now....yeah, its that fresh.  Although it is listed as a somewhat casual restaurant....it's pretty upscale in my books.  Any restaurant that has (from left to right) a bread plate with a bread knife followed by a sald and dinner fork, napkin, salad and dinner knife with a white wine glass situated on "top" of the knives with the water glass on the side.......yeah, casual my ass.  Oh and the menu ranges from $17-38....so if you want to eat somewhere after getting paid....there's a place to hit up.  So where was I.....ah yeah the job.  It's alright.  At first business was slow(and I resorted to looping icecubes into a bucket cause it was sooo slow), but as of late, business has spiked, so coming home at 11:30 is the norm pour moi.

Anywho going on...July 4th...that was intresting.  Despite the "no fireworks" law in Renton, me and Daniel still blew shit up, and it was nice.  The part where he almost burned down my backyard....not nice.  Then there's the bite....I had to rush from work to Seattle, parked by old Pac-Med and biked my way down to seattle center.  Faster than I thought.  Had a fish taco...only place where there was no line.  I was gonna grab a coconut, but I heard it was pretty sketch...so I didn't.  Went ensemble with some people to the Chinatown parade and...yeah, don;'t really have to comment on that either.  And The dark night....I'm not gonna comment how it was epic, over 9000, and......just go see it...daym.  Ah, yeah, so I just remembered I was gonna explain why I'm in a sore state.  So I joined a summer ultimate hat-league.  Basically grab some random peoples, and play so ultimate...nothing to it.  Flaked on the first game cause of stuff.  2nd game....pretty much chewed up my callouses....yuck.  And was confined to my bed the next day.  Most recent game...went better, I'm still pretty much out of shape, still can't outside-in my backhands as much as I want to be able to, but everything else is fine.  But this morning....I'm extremely sore.  Ouch.  Maybe it's cause we played exclusive zone.....or that one "fuck shit up" d...which I still don't know what the hell it is.  Yeah...and it's depressing when a 40+ dude out sprints you......
I think that's the first half of summer I think....yeah I'm pretty sure I left stuff out, either cause I forgot, it wasn't in my mind when I was typing this....or reason number 1.  Spent time with the fam, caught up wtih some friends, made some new ones, and got in touch with some I havn't talk to in awhile, and had some pretty awkward situations....yeah...can't forget those >_<.  Over all it's aight.  Still got the next half...and then college year 2.  Woooooooooo.
