Has been a while, hasn't it! Well, far from boring you with the details, here's a quick summary:
I had a bit of an accident, coming off my bicycle at 30mph down a hill, thanks to going too fast over a tramtrack and slipping. I've not ridden much since as it took a while for my knees to heal enough and then got wintry! Bike was significantly less damaged than I was, although I was surprisingly undamaged considering I slid for about 20yds down the road on my bare arm and got nothing more (on that arm) than a bad graze. I did end up in A&E though, sitting there, reading a book and grinning at people who were very unpolitely staring at me! I'll upload the photos of my injuries when I work out why my phone won't talk to the computer.
After that, I went to Brighton with my Mum and Aunt. That was alright: my Aunt is a bit of a tiresome person, but she was off ill one day so me and Mum went out on our own and that was good. We spent just under £50 in a sweetshop, mostly on fudge :D I enjoyed taking awesome sunset pictures and wandering the 'front. There were lots of other interesting shops: the Vegetarian Shoe Shop, the Armoury, a lot of vegan and vegetarian cafés, some boutique clothes shops selling variously-priced gear, aforementioned sweetshop (Fizziwigs), a shop full of animal cuddlies, lots of lovely jewellery places and a 'hair' shop, to name just a few!
Then University(ies) started shortly after that and I've been snowed under pretty much since, with a brief respite for my friend Amanda's wedding. She did German and Russian, same as me and now lives in Grantham, which isn't far from me. She got married in Lincoln and I got to be 'official photographer'! It was really nice to see a good few old friends for the first time in a long while. Pictures are available on Facebook.
Work has been a pain in the arse. Seems no-one can do anything right. They're giving me more responsibility than I signed up for: I applied for the job on the basis it was just a basic admin. job, but it turns out I'm just a Practice Manager. I wanted a job where I could just turn up and work (or a job related to my course, obviously) so I could concentrate on Uni but at this rate I'm lacking understanding in my course because I'm having to learn too much for work... I'm applying for course-related jobs from now on so I can move when I need to: I only need to give a month's notice and I'd rather go before I'm pushed (NHS cuts!).
I had a very nice birthday and have now half-decided what to spend my parents' money on: I said I wanted to upgrade my computer, but I might just get a Netbook instead. I've been looking at
this one but I'm torn between it and a dual-core one (14hrs battery life, plus better performance). I really wanted one with Windows XP rather than 7, but they're all very poor on battery life.
Christmas looms, also. Once the first coursework's out of the way, there's another to do due end of January, Christmas gifts to make and people to visit, starting with a 4-day spell in Essex and continuing with a 5-day one in Burnley. I also need another set of Christmas lights for the landing window and a number of other pre-Christmas shopping.
Oh well, I'm sure you're all busy with your own stuff so I'll leave it there: nothing else much more interesting to say so I'll:
Sahha ohrain.
