Spain was brilliant. We saw where Sharpe did this-that-and-the-other, and where real people did stuff too, as well as visiting some historical sites for their own merit (Caceres and Salamanca cities). Once I've posted the pictures to Facebook I'll link them back here and do a proper write-up.
While I was in Essex I bought more bulbs for the garden and picked up some paving slabs for paving the back garden: there's too little grass to mow properly and it's a pain in the arse. We'll be paving it with just sand so that it's as free-draining as possible, and probably adding a small nature-pond next to the fence (might be a surprise for the cats jumping off the fence!).
This week I've been acquainting myself with freshers at SFFS and RPGSoc: there are lots of people turning up to both societies and RPGSoc has over 80 paid-up members! I ran Fighting Fantasy on Thursday and it wasn't a huge success in a number of ways thanks to my players not being heroes, but it was hilarious :D The new girl seemed to enjoy it!
Also this week we've been to the dentist and the doctor:
the latter for a 'flu jab (today) and having the 'coil' fitted (yesterday). The same nurse who was supervising yesterday gave me the 'flu jab today! Anyway, yes, I've had an intra-unterine device fitted; that's the coil with hormone and mine's a Mirena. I was considering getting off the Pill at some point and then the above-mentioned nurse gave me a leaflet when I got the last lot. There's no reason I can't have one without having had a baby: it's just a bit more difficult to fit :) I was in agony for a couple of moments during the fitting, but I only experienced a nagging and occasionally bad period pain for the rest of the day. Now I'm wondering where the period I was due to start yesterday has gone and looking forward to not having to remember to take pills whenever I have to stop somewhere for the night!
LARP tonight. There are new rules (as in a complete system change) as well as a new world. I've read neither so far, but I won't be taking part much tonight because of the 'flu jab I got today: my arm's OK, but I don't want to risk temporary muscle damage! I really need to find all my kit and make sure it's all brought back to my house and washed: it's probably filthy!
Right, I'm off to go and continue sorting things out: I'm busy enough without having a job so I don't know what I'll do once I a.) start back at Uni and b.) get a job, especially as I have an interview for something suitable on Monday evening!
Sahha ohrain.
