I have a new camera. I spent £441 on it ;P
It's a Nikon D40 with standard (£250 complete, reduced from £270) and zoom (£100) lenses, in black. I also got Jessops insurance (3 years for the camera and standard lens was £38 and for the zoom was £13), a UV filter (£15), a carry case (£25 reduced from £50) and an 8GB memory card (£15). Yes, 8GB. I've not played with it yet: I was going to take it to Rob's firework do but didn't have time to charge the battery pack in the end. It's a 6Mpixel but as I said, much more than 5 seems excessive. It's nice to have two lenses to play with :D
Here's the camera and standard lens. Mum and Dad gave me £400 for Christmas and birthday specifically for a camera when I said I needed about £300 for one, so the extra £100 was definitely worth it and I am most grateful! I also worked out what the problem with my old one is: it overheats! Gah, stupid thing! So, if anyone wants a Pentax ME Super with 50mm 1.7 lens, batteries and 3(?) rolls 400 ISO film and/or a Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 with 32+64+64+128MB memory sticks, carry case, cable, wrist strap and manual etc., let me know!
Rob's firework party on Saturday was pretty fun. I spent the evening photographing :D Cheryl had lent me her camera but I didn't need it in the end (thank you though!). Friday I'd made two mocha cakes and I think I saw them for about 2mins before all that was left was crumbs! I had some lovely crumble though.
Saturday morning I went into town and took more photos for my portfolio. It was quite sunny for a time so most of them are really clear. I also went to Jessops as mentioned and to Aladdin's Cave in the Vic Centre for a bottle brush but ended up with that, some kitchen tongs and two non-stick 7" sandwich tins! Oooops... In the £1 shop I got some tights and some other bits and bobs.
Why tights? Well, this week at work I'm being sponsored for Children in Need to wear a skirt and heels all week, i.e. dress posh. I assured my team it wasn't too much bother as all I needed was tights (4 pairs for £1) and they seem pleased by my efforts: i've even gonoe for a bit of makeup! Will try and get a photo :) The rest of the team are also doing things they don't like doing, mostly by giving something up than doing something extra!
Sunday and yesterday I spent working on the Portfolio coursework that's due 19th December. We've been asked to bring in our efforts on Friday and it sounds like me and Vicki had done quite a lot compared to everyone else by just taking a few pictures! I have a lot of questions so I should write them down: I've printed the pictures now so that should be OK.
Inquisitor taster session tomorrow! I'm REALLY looking forward to it! :D :D :D :D :D
