Coinage

This was on the BBC news this morning: only 2%?! If I go a month of being at Uni without seeing one I'm doing well! And that bit about not working in vending machines hasn't happened to me: Sainsbury's Self Check-Out certainly took the last one I had! I do tend to use them in supermarket trolleys :D NCT buses also have the drop-in box for money and they'll go into that fine :D And yes, I know it's illegal, but sometimes you just don't notice you're spending the illegal ones until you notice they're gone.

Also in the news, we had to watch BBC London on Sunday because they forgot to flick the switch! Idiots. And on Friday, East Midlands Today ran a story on the 50th anniversary of the Vulcan crash at Syerston, which I've passed a few times on my way to a job in Newark. There's a full report here.

Had a pretty good weekend. Saturday I got tons done: I went into West Bridgford snd trawled the charity shops for LARP-suitable shirts. I found two and also bought a nice pair of posh shoes, two dresses, a jacket and a summer LARP black top. There was an arts and crafts fair on too so I bought a dragonfly necklace and will be going next week to The Square in Beeston to get a dragon ornament from this guy. Then I went into town and FINALLY found a cheap-enough pair of boots that fit and everything. In Peacocks! And thanks to the 20% student discount, I got about a fiver off, taking them below £20 :D :D :D !!! And since when was it goth-season?! I walked into New Look on LIstergate to be confronted by a swathe of black and purple! Related to this, I think I'm about 10 years behind myself: I'm going through the rock-chick, alternative lifestyle, goth-crazy, tarting-up, caring about my looks phase now! I'm almost 25! Makes a lot of sense, actually :D

In the evening I tarted myself up Goth-style and headed out to the Pit and Pendulum for the RPGSoc (unaffiliated) Social. It's the first time I've done my own makeup since I was 10 and I can count the number of times I've worn (non-fancy dress) make-up using only my palms ;P I even bought eyeshadow and a new lipstick! It's not as good as the old one though: not dark enough. In total I think I spent just under £7 on makeup this weekend; the joys of Superdrug's 99p stuff and other cheap stores! It was unfortunate that I had to buy new mascara but I couldn't find the other one I bought years ago. I am kinda in love with the 99p nail varnish from Superdrug: it's not very long lasting but it goes on well and lasts long enough for 99p! Anyway, in the Pit I found Matt already well-soaked and proceeded to drink my way through Greed, Gluttony, Lust and Sloth (Envy, Wrath and Pride are full of stuff I don't like, mostly whisky and/or dark rum). We have replaced Lust with Gluttony as the least alcoholic-tasting, and therefore as our finisher. I was pretty wasted when I got the bus home with John but managed to read some of Building magazine while waiting for Matt to arrive home from walking with people. I reckon I was more drunk than the last work night out ;P And we're back in the Pit again tonight, with SFFS! Less dressing up, though.

Sunday was recovery day. I didn't feel ill, just like I had no energy. I didn't even get any painting done! And I missed a project meeting, but I doubt I a.) missed much and b.) would have contributed to or taken anything from it. Watched Merlin which was alright. Dragon's still not a patch on Jurassic Park.

Talking of projects and work and things, still no timetable! But I did win £19-worth of 6 Daemonettes, finally!

This week I'll mostly be at Freshers' Fayre or tidying up and stuff. I need to arrange a time to meet with Cheryl and I am off to see Emilie Thursday evening.
