More effects of the rain...

• I might have ruined one of my favourite ties for work. It's a metallic maroon, crumpled and silk. It's also sodden, and now hanging to dry in the bathroom.
• My wallet has dried out hard, being leather. Most of the important stuff is fine, but the £10 note that was in there now looks in need of laundering.
• My work trousers are similarly sodden, and even if I were confident of their being dry by morning, they certainly won't be clean! Even the shoes that were in a plastic bag are damp!
• My washbag is soaked, and slightly frothy due to leaked shower gel. It, too, is hanging in the bathroom.
• My rucksack looks even more ruined than first thought. Will try to find a reasonably-priced replacement on Saturday, as cycling with a holdall is unpleasant and unsafe.
• What with one thing and another, tomorrow I'll be travelling by bus!

ION, the ginger that I thought I'd killed a few months back? I kept watering the pot, just in case. A couple of weeks ago when I acquired the pitcher plants, I moved the pot into the kitchen by the bin in readiness for throwing it away, and forgot. I just glanced at it and saw a 2" green shoot! I've now given it some more water (the compost had shrunk from the sides of the pot), and as soon as the voodoo lilies are finished, I'll move it back into the bathroom.

Bed now - I want to be on the 7:14 in the morning.
