Paparazzi sues celeb blogger for $7.6M As writers and bloggers, copyright is sometimes a difficult concept to deal with. Although I've enjoyed reading poems on friends' LJs, for example, I think it's probably a copyright violation (unless the author has given permission or the piece is so old that it's in the public domain).
I've been irritated when I've seen my magazine articles posted on strangers' websites without permission. I became aware of this when I joined the
American Society of Journalists and Authors. They have very strict rules for posting on their private forums. If you want to point out a really good piece on the web, you're only allowed to include a couple of lines about it and then you need to give the link to it. (Posting the whole thing violates copyright.)
Just got home from the weeklong Highlights retreat. More on that later, when my brain stops oozing from my ears and my poor pup, who is sick, feels better.
