Great News & Graduation Day!

This past Wednesday I got a job as a nurse at the transplant centre at Sahlgrenska hospital! Woohoo! They said I could choose which ward I wanted to work at and when I wanted to start working there. I said Feb 4th so I have two weeks vacation now! It's really great to have some time off!

I graduated from college Friday (Jan 18th) and it was a wonderful day. It started off with Champagne breakfast at the church and then we went to have lunch at our school. Our friends and family joined our celebrations at 2 PM when the ceremony at the Caroli church began. (The college I went to always arranges for the graduating classes to hold their ceremonies at this particular church.) I invited my younger brothers, my mom and dad, my boyfriend and my friend Jessica to the ceremony. My youngest brother couldn't make it though because he's currently in Mexico with his girlfriend and they won't be back until the end of this month. My other brother, my boyfriend, my parents and Jess made it though and I'm very grateful that they came to my graduation.
When the ceremony was over we went to my parents house to celebrate with the rest of my relatives. The guests there were; my grandmother, my two uncles, my boyfriend's parents and his two brothers, my boyfriend, Jess, one of my brothers, my mom and dad and my dad's aunt and her husband. My mom and dad had ordered catering for the occasion and it was really good food. It was a nice dinner party and I really enjoyed just spending time with my family and friends and celebrating my own graduation from college.
I got some awesome gifts too!
My grandmother gave me money. My dad's aunt and her husband also gave me money. My uncles gave me a book on midwifery and a bouquet of pink lilies and other pink flowers. My friend Jess and her mother gave me a beautiful silver and gold necklace. My boyfriend's parents gave me a sculpture that had been custom made for me. A neighbour (who is also a nurse) came by with a book about Florence Nightingale for me. My mom gave me a custom made ring which was made from my maternal grandparents' wedding rings and my grandmother's old pearl necklace. (My maternal grandparents are both dead now.) My dad gave me his old manual pocket watch with my name and title (registered nurse) along with the date of my graduation engraved on the back. My boyfriend's brothers gave me a lip gloss with a small flashlight attached to it so you can apply the lip gloss in the dark.
I loved all my gifts!
Here are some photos from my graduation (both from the ceremony, from the party at my parents' house and the Class of '08 party).
Take care all!
