So I'm back on Long Island for the weekend. Came home to visit mother + dogs. Found that mother had done shopping for me. I appreciate that. The dependency issues notwithstanding, she at least recognizes how much I hate shopping with her, and my tastes in clothing are very simple (solid colors, whites, grays, blacks, blues and the occasional green, rarely anything more than two-tone.) She also bought me this wonderful black jacket that looks really good on me.
Too bad that the last time I got new clothes, I wore a large. Now I'm Xtra-large. So except for one shirt which is a little over-sized for a large but fits me perfectly, we need to exchange everything. Including the coat.
Oh wait, no, we don't have to exchange the jeans, those fit.
I got a nice surprise. It made me happy. I also came home to steak and sauteed portobella mushrooms. Glee.
I get to take back to Troy with me: New, ausgezeichnet (excellent) clothing. The screws to my nice leather chair so that I can finally assemble it and put it in my room instead of the crappy fold-up camping chair I've been wrecking with regular abuse. Beef: It's what's for dinner. Money for an oil change. The satisfying knowledge that my puppies still remember me (even though they're not really puppies anymore.)
I've had a good day. Now if only my mother's computer had Japanese input. Hm...
Also, the LiveJournal spell-checker sucks. It gives me a spelling error on I've because it perceives the 've' as a separate word. Guh.
The General.
