It's almost Christmas... that rocks. I love Christmas and everything about the season. Our tree is really cute (we went with the family to cut it down a couple weeks ago which was fun... the beef jerkey we got afterwards was amazing as always) but it still needs decorated. The lights and tree topper are on, but we still haven't gotten around to putting up the ornaments. Slow. I also haven't decorated the house or wrapped the presents. It's less than a week away and the decorations only stay up til New Years so I really need to get moving.
My Grandma Meyer died yesterday morning. She had been put on life support after some extreme heart trauma, but her wishes had always been to not be kept on life support if that was the only thing keeping her alive. So the day before yesterday my Dad and his brothers and sisters had to decide to take her off life support and let her go. It was really rough to be at the hospital with my family. I hate hospitals in general, I hate when people cry, I hate people seeing me cry, and I hate, of course, when someone I love dies. At least when they took her off life support she didn't just crash and have a bad death. Her vital signs slowly decreased overnight and she died peacefully yesterday morning. She just stopped breathing and had family around her so that's good. She was 86 and had a really long and good life and I know she's in heaven because she was such a wonderful, loving, and giving person. I know a lot of people say that stuff about their grandparents, but she genuinely was all of that and not just towards her family, towards everyone. A lot of people knew and loved her and are really going to miss her.
In happier news, things with Gary and I are going really well. I'm so in love with him. We've been so happy together since we got married and really just have a ton of fun with each other every single day. We went to his work Christmas party on Friday and everyone was saying stuff like... "Gary's new wife...", "The newleyweds...", etc. They all knew me before but they made a big deal out of us being married and it was cute. I love being married to him. He's such a good husband.
I have to go eat lunch and hopefully start on some of this decorating, but I will be posting again soon because there's a ton of stuff going on with Anita that I want to write about.
Merry Almost Christmas. Remember to say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays.
