Hell Week is the best week ever. It's stressfull and exhausting and insane and I LOVE IT!! I haven't done that much. I'm basically Mrs. Smela's gopher, and I do whatever errands she needs. But just being there is amazingly amusing. I've seen the whole play about 7 times now. It gets better every time, and Trice makes up random improvs every time, and It's so entertaining. Here's a break down of the week:
Friday: Tech Take. Turned the gym into the auditorium. Besides helping tape down the tarps, I really didn't do much. I was mostly girl-talking with Jamie, lol. Mrs. Smela wasn't there, so I couldn't help her. Some parts were kinda dull, but it was mostly pretty fun.
Saturday: Um, yeah, I told my mom to wake me up at 8:45 cuz Megan wanted to be there by 10, but my mom waltzed into my room at about 10:30 with the old "you were so tired, you needed your rest" trick. I hate that excuse cuz it's always for me. I've never heard her say to Megan "honey, I don't think that you should have stay late at rehearsal tonight. You need your rest". Never! With Megan, she understands that rehearsals sometimes go late, and that you have to get there at 9 or 10 the next morning. It's part of hell week! You're expected to get a total of about 5 hours of sleep during the week! Ok, not 5, but not very much! So after being pissed at my mom, I decided not to go, cuz Mrs. Smela wasn't there again, and I didn't want to make a big thing out of getting there even though I didn't need to be there. My mom wanted to take my Aunt to Great Lakes, so I tagged along. It was fun at first, but then I got burned out and they wanted to keep going. I'm really not much of a shopper. It gets too boring for me. So yeah, that's what I did on Saturday.
Sunday: Megan skipped out on church and went to school right after we left for church. I came at about 5. It was my first Hell Week dinner, and I'm not gonna lie, It wasn't bad! After dinner I asked Mrs. Smela if she needed help, but she didn't. So I mostly just watched the play. It was still fun though. Me and Megan left at about 10:30.
Monday: Stayed after school and just kinda hung around for about 2 hours. Lighing crew was doing random things, so I talked to various lighting people. [sidenote: We got lighting crew sweatpants!! They're so sweet, they're black and they say lighting crew down the side of one of the legs. Like 10 people got them, and they're good fun.] I tried really hard to study for my Anatomy test that was on Tuesday, but that lasted about 10 minutes because people were being loud and annoying. So I gave up on that, telling myself that I could do it when rehearsal started because people are supposed to be quiet when they're performing. We ate dinner at 4, which was super early so I was hungy again about 2 hours later, but unfortunatly SOL. So when we were getting ready for the curtain to go up Mrs. Smela said that she had a job for me, and that was to time how long the scenes were, which meant A) I had to sit in the gym for the whole thing, and 2) I couldn't study for my Anatomy test. But I did it, cuz I wanted to do something. It was long and dull, and besides forgetting to time a few scenes and my phone (which had my stopwatch on it) dieing on the second to last scene, it went ok. I left on the last scene because my mother had arrived and my phone was dead anyway. I got kind of angry when I got home because my mother insisted that I do something, and I really needed to study for Anatomy. I probably bombed Anatomy, btw...
Tuesday: So I'm goin about my normal day routine, and then I remember that the Brother Rice preview of the play is on Tuesday. I reeeeeally wanted to go and help because you got to miss the last two hours of school, which, heh, sounded kinda nice. Then I find out that there is this "list". Very official. You have to be on this list to help with the preview. So of course everybody is all "you're not on the list! you have to be on the list!". So at lunch, I went to see Mrs. Smela, and I said "Mrs. Smela, would you like me to help with the preview?" and she's like "I don't know. Are you on the list?" and I said "no", so she's like "oh" and pulls out a piece of paper. A regular list. Not made of steel, or any such notion. And she wrote down my name and said "you're on the list. Be here at 1 this afternoon and 7:30 tomorrow morning". HAH! Not only did I get to miss my last two hours, I got to miss the ENTIRE DAY today! yeah! Because I asked! So anyway, she did end up needing my help with a few errands, and it was jolly good fun.
Wednesday: So, we show up at 7:30, and I am obviously the dork, because I'm wearing my uniform skirt and play shirt, and everybody else is wearing jeans and t-shirts and what not. But whatever, I looked more proper that way I suppose. We actually performed this morning for a bunch of middle schools including (SURPRISE!) St. Joes! So yeah we did the whole small talk thing and whatever with Mrs. Tyner, but it was odd. After the performance (which went kind of funky, but the kids laughed so it was all good), they fed us lunch and then we got ready for the Marian preview. My gosh, Marian go soooo into it! They were laughing hysterically, and cheering people on, and it was really funny. The actors love when they perform for Marian, it's a big self-esteem booster. But yeah, that went great.
Sooo, opening night is tomorrow night, should be good fun. I volunteered to be an usher cuz they needed them, which means I don't do a hell of a lot during the play, but I'll be busy before. I'm super 'cited. I have no idea whatsoever if I'll be going to any cast parties, but I hope I can. Those are fun.
Ok, I should reeeeeeeeeally do my homework now, seeing as I'm a bit behind. Dah. I hate school. Besides MRP.
