Just got paid today got me a pocket full of change
ZZ top's song is appropriate for today, as I got my paycheck from blue bayou! It was much more for 3 days than what I would have gotten for a week of babysitting the evil child. wooowooo
I promised to provide an in-depth, thorough account since my last post that explained what I did that day.
On June 10th, I interviewed at Blue Bayou and got an A+ on my interview! On the 15th I was supposed to have a 2nd interview but Mrs. Kathy's husband (the man who interviewed me) was usually right the first time and the 2nd interview was a waste of time. They said just to come to the class. I jumped for joy from that call because I knew I wouldnt have to babysit the demonic child again!!! I attended two classes on the 15th and 16th, to learn how to work the cash registers and such. I work in Admissions and Cash Control, which are the people who do cash registers, everything with entrance into the park, locker rental, dipindots cart, etc. The 18th was my first day. I was a Friday, and I got put in Gift Snack. Gift Snack is usually quiet, but it was a busy day at Blue Bayou. Business was slow until Courtney, who trained me, left to take her break. All of a sudden, it was packed! People where getting anxious which made me nervous and in turn caused me to press the wrong buttons. My overring sheet was filled front and back. Everything was ok as long as I put everything down. They realized it was because the combined stress of it being my first day and that it was busy was too much right away. The next day, I was re-entry for the blue bayou entrance. It is only for handicapped until the other parking lot fills up. The other parking lot filled up and the entrance I was working at got busy. For re-entry, you stamp hands with special ink and then when they come back check to see that the ink glows under a black light. I did very well and was polite to all of the people, so the next day the put me back on a register. I had gotten over first-day nerves. I worked the register at Locker rental, and I rocked. Haha. I had a nice little system and everything. Monday, I was put on it again. I was supposed to do turnstyle but the other Katie went instead. I was not complaining, and I had another day of doing well. Both Sunday and Monday my Overring sheets were pretty much blank. Monday wasnt very busy, so my brother and I got to go home at 4:00. Tuesday was my day off, which I spent doing nothing. Wednesday, I got sent to dippin dots cart. I worked with this obnoxious kid. Maragaritaville came on the radio, so I sang along. The annoying kid noticed that I liked Jimmy Buffett and called Jimmy a man-whore!!! Well I just have to say that the little annoying kid is the man-whore! Anyway, since Wednesday was slow, my brother and I got sent home early again, which made the annoying kid jealous. Hahaha. Thursday was my other day off and I spent itplaying on my computer and not doing much. Friday my brother and I got a day off because there was a lot of thunder and lightning that they didnt open the park. My family and I decided to take a drive. We drove to the New Orleans best buy. We drove back to BR and ate at Brew Bacher's. There was no use staying home because our cable was out so no TV or computer. Today, I worked in Gift Snack all by myself! I did not have anything on my overring sheet, but we only sold things to about 5 customers. Haha. It was another excruciatingly slow daybecause of weather so my brother and I got sent home again at 2:30.
