Green Noob needs help badly

So... obviously I'm new-ish at this Livejournal thing. There are two functions I see used on other peoples' LJs so often and so uniformly that they must be automated, but fuck me if I can find the options, which forces me to ask:

How do you make it so that someone's LJ name comes up as a link to their journal complete with the little LJ icon?

How do you put part of your post behind a cut?
