So I haven't posted in quite a while... haven't really had much to say, really. Been playing a lot of ultimate frisbee, with league on Saturdays and pickup on Sundays. I've ceased going to Wednesday night pickup, as it gets dark way too early now. Need to replace that with one of the lunch pickup games at MWF, but it's been pretty hectic at work.
Speaking of work, the T-Mobile Shadow was just announced. Kind of a blast from the past for us, as we were done with this back in July, but that's the way it works in the mobile phone business. The time it takes to get from us to market is a pretty long time indeed.
Meanwhile, I've been working on the current major AKU for WM6, and have been vainly trying to start working on the next big release we're doing.
Anyway, I'm glad to have found a league team to play with. Made up of mostly pickup players, we have 26 players on our roster. We normally get around 20 people to show up to the games, which has been rather impressive. You'd think we'd be able to just run teams down with this many people, but that really hasn't been the case. (I suspect this is mainly due to our style of play.)
We're 4-3, though all of our losses were definitely winnable. For some reason, we often wind up giving up several points in a row towards the end of the game. A lack of intensity, perhaps? An inability to close out games? Dunno.
Playoffs start tomorrow, so I'm pumped. It's exciting to be playing in an actual game; I actually get to play at game speed and also get to lay out! I'm not terribly inclined to do either at pickup, so w00t.
