Inoo Kei was born with all perfection, high pride and ultimate luck. Everything he wanted could be owned with just a blink, and it was normal for everyone to envy him so much. Who wouldn't? Great scores, charming-prince like, good manner, and a guy of great wealth. But all the luxuries he had weren't enough, since what he wanted so bad to be his own couldn't be granted no matter how hard he tried to become a person who got full spotlight like he was, Yabu Kota never opened his heart to him. Yabu Kota is such mystery for him; a mystery he determined to solve.
“Yabu-kun, here”
Inoo Kei was happy, everyone he invited to his birthday party was there - Yabu was there.
“Happy birthday, Inoo-kun.” Kei beamed to Kota's friendly greeting. “My best wishes for you. Well then, I’ll take my leave now.”
“Eee??!! Just like that??? Just a greeting??? And now you're leaving??” was the questions on his mind and could do nothing.
Kei was so happy that Kota attended his birthday party but the happiness disappeared following Kota’s figure that disappeared from the crowd of his friends and finally vanished from his sight. Everyone should be happy on their birthday but not with Kei. The only one that could make him happy none other than Kota but until now, with all the spotlight he had, Kei still couldn’t reach Kota’s heart.
"Screw with the party! If I can't be with him tonight, all of my efforts would be a waste," Kei hissed angrily.
He left the ballroom, half running to catch up Kota's long steps. There he saw the man of his dream, who was about to leave, chatted happily with his cousin, Arioka Daiki, in the hallway.
"How does he know Dai-chan? And what's with the smile carved on his face? He never gave me that expression!" Kei frowned.
Without bothering to let himself hurt even worse, with a heavy feeling in his chest, he slouched sulkily back inside the ballroom. And there he vowed to himself, to stop thinking about that guy. He was tired to do anything, everything to make Kota look at him only to get nothing.
"He just doesn't know it, Dai-chan..." Kota smiled bitterly while shoving his hand into his jean pocket.
"And I have no will to tell him about that, he's too perfect for someone like me."
. . .
Arioka Daiki's life was rather peaceful and steady - school in the morning, having lunch with his handsome boyfriend, Takaki Yuya, having soccer as extracurricular in the afternoon with Yabu Kota, and once in a while learning piano with his cousin, Kei. But that was before; before his pretty cousin was in love and obsessed with school soccer team captain, Yabu Kota.
His beautiful cousin was in love with the stick, Kota and the lanky boy has a feeling too for Kei, but too coward to admit it; saying nonsense like being not good enough for Kei. And when Daiki decided to do something to help them, Kei abruptly declared that he gave up on that guy. What the hell? Daiki thought. It was sad seeing how things turned up like this, how Kei changed.
"What the hell are you doing? What's this?" Daiki snapped at Kei pointing mark 6 on Kei's biology test.
Daiki continued when Kei ignored him, "I know you gave up on him, but it doesn't mean you gave up on your life, Kei!!"
Kei lifted his head that was previously lying on the table to look at his trapped-in-short-body-cousin. Daiki was surprised when he saw Kei’s face that looked so bleak. Kei’s beautiful pale skin now became paler and pallid, his eyes bag getting bigger make his eyes looked very swollen and his pouty pinky lips wasn’t pinkish anymore, it was almost the same color with his skin now. Daiki did not expect his beautiful cousin would be like a zombie just because of Stick Boy named Yabu Kota.
“Dai-chan, what should I do?? Kei asked with his hoarse voice, “I try my best to forget Yabu but it was useless, the more I want to forget him, the more I am remembering him” Kei continued.
"Then don't forget him if it only will make you remember about him," Daiki suggested.
"But I want to forget him!" Kei insisted.
"Then forget him!" Daiki suggested again, curtly.
"Dai-chan! You're not helping at all. I hate you!" Kei buried his face against the pillow and started to cry again.
"It's you who doesn't make sense here, Kei-chan. Why all of sudden you want to give up on everything? The world is still spinning even if you're not with Yabu-kun, isn't it? Just forget about that sticky boy!" Daiki scolded his now-almost-lifeless cousin.
"Even though I know he loves you back, but I can't let you like this," he murmured so Kei couldn't hear him.
. . .
Kei lifted his head off the pillow as he heard a noise, it seemed like the cell phone was ringing. His sight was rather blurry from the previous sleeping, yet he tried to check the clock on the wall. It was twelve passed the midnight. He shifted, reaching out the device. But then he clicked his tongue, realizing that it wasn't his phone. That was Daiki's, probably he dropped it and forgot to bring it after nagging nonstop, lecturing him about the thing he already had enough. Kei checked the device that kept ringing, reconsidering to answer it or not, but then he went with the first choice.
"What took you so long to answer my call?!!"
This voice? It can't be...
That voice made him snap his eyes open; he pulled the phone to check the caller's ID: "Yabu-kun". His heart beats became uncontrollable however; he slowly put the phone closer to his ear.
"It's midnight already." He answered the call, hoping the sleepiness on his voice was good enough to be reason that his voice sounded different.
"I'm sorry. But I just feel restless." There's a small pause before Kota continued, "Have you talked to Inoo-kun about his recent condition? I was kind of worry about him." And the phone he was holding slipped off his hand.
He worried about me?
And that sentence alone brought him a sleepless night.
. . .
Kei could hear twitter of birds from the outside, the cold air from the window, and the sun rays coming through the glass window of his room. Kei couldn’t sleep that night, the sentence that came out from the one he’d loved for long time ago still ringing in his ears and kept repeating in his smart brain.
He worries about me?
Does his worries just a worries as a friend??
Can I expect more from his worried about me???
Kei got up from his bed, stood in front of the tall mirror attached to his wardrobe and look carefully at his body, “I look horrible” he mumbled as he saw his reflection in the mirror. He made a decision.
He flipped open his cell phone and called his-literally-short cousin, "Dai-chan, accompany me to the best parlor ever existed in Tokyo, get your ass here in five minutes!"
"What the heck with you Kei? I thought you didn't want to live again since last week. And what's with this parlor? Are you going to have make-over for a party for your broken heart," Daiki sounded so annoyed.
"I'll make him mine, definitely for this time," Kei ensured the younger boy.
"Him? Yabu-kun?" Daiki asked doubtfully.
"Who else?"
"You said you want to forget him, so why all of sudden you make up your mind again?"
"I'll tell you later! Hayaku! Come here now!"
"I can't! I'm going out with Yuya now," Daiki rejected to accompany his-now-burning-in-passion cousin.
"Fine! I'll go myself then!" Kei furiously hang up the phone.
On the other line, Daiki threw a confused look to the two guys before him. Yuya looked at his boyfriend then to his best friend.
"Dude, just admit it that you love him too," the brunette suggested.
"No matter how much you hide the truth, it's written very clearly on your forehead that you are so in love with him. I'm not that stupid, we're friends since in diapers!" Yuya added while stirring his coffee.
Kota ignored what Yuya had just said, he sipped his beverage as his mind was reaching out somewhere. Seemed so uneasy, he tapped his heels up and down, hands folding over his chest. Daiki confused even more to see his best friend's demeanor, a furrow formed on his forehead. While he was about to ask about the matter Kota might have in mind, or maybe unspoken words which were needed to erupt, the lanky boy shifted from his seat and then stood up.
"Please tell me where can I find him?" Kota questioned the dumbfounded Daiki.
"What?" Daiki asked in surprised, but luckily he recovered soon. "Wait a minute, Kei loved to change his destination, so I'll just call him first."
And after few minutes waiting, "He's in the shopping mall" And Kei excused himself right after Daiki gave him Kei's number. Yuya and Daiki wished the lanky boy good luck.
. . .
Kota arrived in the said shopping mall 20 minutes later and soon spotted his crush in the cashier, paying some stuffs. Kota took a deep breath and readied himself to approach the pretty boy, just to realize he didn't know what he should say or do in the first place.
He was still figuring out what kind of move he would make and he watched Kei exited the store.
"I'm not losing him again," Kota said to himself. And then he rushed to Kei.
"Inoo-kun!!" The said boy turned around facing him with a surprised expression.
He didn’t expect that he will meet Kota in the shopping mall but in the next second he felt happy too. The one that he longed for this day now stand in front of him. He needed a couple of minute to get back to reality.
“Oh, Yabu-kun. What are you doing here?” he tried to sound normal, as normal as he could to hide happiness meeting his crush.
“I.. hmm… I… “ Kota said haltingly, thinking what should he said was better. “Look, honestly Dai-chan asked me to come here.”
“Dai-chan??”
“Yes, he said he is worrying about you since your health is not good this past few days then you call him before and asking him to accompany you but he can’t, so…”
“Then, how about you??”
“Me??” confusion could be seen on his face.
“Do you worry about me too??”
Kota shocked when Kei directly asked about that matter. Sweat trickling down his face as he could feel the paler boy gaze pierced into him.
"Eto, anou, mm... I..." Kota stammered.
"You do worry about me, don't you?" Kei retorted. He bravely took a step forward to the nervous Kota. The lanky boy stayed still until Kei reached merely an inch from him.
"Tell me honestly, Kota."
Faint pink crept up on Kota's face as he felt Kei's warm breath on his ear, not to mention that he called him by his first name. He slowly stepped back.
"Not really," he mumbled.
Kei caught his wrist before the older could run from him. The shorter boy got bolder every second passed as Kota still in denial.
"I know you do worry about me. When you call Dai-chan last night, it was me who answered the phone," Kei said in a low voice.
He got closer to his crush, in his mind he would never ever let go of this chance. But the thing happened in the next second was beyond any of his wildest dreams. With his free hand, Kota sneaked on Kei's waist to pull him closer until the raven landed perfectly on his chest, inciting his breath to knock out of his lung. Taken aback by the sudden act his eyes widened in surprise. And even before he could manage to catch his breath again, he felt a pair of lips crashed against his. The lips that he longed for the whole year, which always accompanied him in every sweet dream he had, from someone that he never thought that would have any interest in him for the rest of his life. Yabu Kota was kissing him, on the lips. Momentarily experienced the short-circuiting in his brain, Kei almost forgot how to breathe properly. Unwillingly he pushed Kota on the chest, attempting to set him free from the tight grip Kota had on him, only to make the other tightened his embrace and caught his wrist to restrain him from going away.
Deeming that what he did was useless, he gasped against the kiss trying to catch some fresh air. But once again Kota did something beyond his imagination, the lanky guy took the chance to delve his tongue in, rendering Kei breathless, nearly unconscious. He felt numb, his legs were weak and shaky. He never expected this kind of thing would happen at time like this, in a place where the crowd would look at them in stupefaction. Once he felt that he couldn't stand it anymore, he slumped on the floor while Kota was still holding on one of his wrists.
What was that? Kei asked in his mind. This was what he wanted, he'd been striving for Kota to acknowledge his presence, to fall for him. And his wish was granted, here he was kissed by the lanky boy. He was sure this was what he wanted, yet again he was still questioning himself, Is this what I want?.
This happened too fast, he wanted this, but not like this. There were too many things to be registered on his mind. The train of his thought was cut when Kota pulled his arm to help him stand.
"Kei…" He called me 'Kei'. Kei turned his head facing the older boy.
"Let's go." He didn't know why but he stood still when Kota pulled him.
"What's wrong?" Kei was still dazed. Really, this was too fast for him, he wanted at least, some silly dates, holding hands or at least going home together from school before they kissed.
Damn, I didn't even reply the kiss.
"Kei?" Kota titled his head in confusion. And Kei pulled his hand from Kota's hold while shaking his head to the side.
"Not like this" That was the last sentence Kei said before he turned his heel and dashing away leaving Kota alone with all those shopping bags he held earlier.
. . .
Kei sat at the edge of his bed and touched his lips, he still could feel the lanky boy’s lips against his. He was very sure that he wanted this for God sake but it was just too fast for him, he didn’t even prepare himself for this. At least, He wanted to hear Kota’s confession, saying three simple words that he dreamed in every time he sleep.
“Kei” Kota called him. Kei turned his head facing Kota that walking close to him.
“Kei…” Kota called him again as he positioned himself sitting beside Kei.
“What are you doing here?” Kei said with a cold tone.
Feeling a pair of arms curled around his shoulder brought him in to the owner of the arms, an embrace as the answer of his question. He was surprised by the act for the second time. He could feel his breath knock out of his lung for the second time. And for the second time too, he felt a pair of lips capture his very own lips, kissing him passionately like before. Kota broke the kiss as he, himself needed some fresh air.
“Twice!!” Kei said with low voice but enough for make Kota confuse.
“You kiss me twice already!!” Kei continued, sounded clearly this time.
“I….”
“I hate you” Kei cut him before he could finish his sentence.
The younger boy formed a fist that was soon enough landed on Kota’s chest. But apparently, Kota was faster and he caught Kei's hand.
"Tell me where did I do wrong?" Kota asked.
"All of this is so wrong!! Call me hypocrite, but I just want a normal relationship. Like you courting me, asking me to go out with you, having date to random places, calling me at night, sending me messages, telling me those simple three words. That's all I'm asking for! Not like this, you've already kissed me, TWICE!!!" Kei yelled, he let out his anger.
"I..." Kota couldn't utter words. He struck dumbfounded at Kei's confession. He thought the high and mighty Inoo Kei wouldn't need to go through that kind of things. But all his assumptions were just making things worse.
"I hate you," he mumbled for the umpteenth times already. Kei looked away from his crush, not bothering with Kota who was currently fidgeting because of the guilt for doing so toward him. But then again, Kei halted on his seat as he felt Kota's hand wrapped his own.
"Kei, you can hate me as much as you want, but please, listen to me first," Kota initiated the talk.
"What? Don't waste my time, I hate you, okay?"
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't control myself anymore when I'm around you. Your presence is overwhelming that I couldn't think clearly who you are and who I am. I know that what I did is wrong, but I can't help it, I can't lie anymore," Kota explained.
"What do you mean?"
"I never intended to tell you this, not even in my dream. You are too perfect for someone like me."
"I don't get it. Tell me clearly, what do you mean with your words?" Kei stared deeply at the boy before him.
"I fall for someone who deserved other man better than me. But no matter how hard I try to go away from him, he never gave up upon me. Little did he know, I've fallen for him way before he realized his feeling, but I kept telling myself that I wasn't mean for him. Not until two best friends of mine telling me to go for it. And when I realized, I've already kissed him, twice, and making him hates me," Kota heaved a heavy sigh, "And that someone is you, I'm in love with you, Inoo Kei."
"Why don't you tell me earlier?" Kei murmured.
"I don't have the courage. Now, you can hate me like you want. I won't bother you." Kota stood up and ready to leave Kei's room.
"Wait," Kei stopped Kota from leaving. He caught Kota's wrist and pulled him to sit on his bed once again. The younger boy cupped Kota's face and closed the gap between them. He landed his lips softly against the latter.
"Thrice, and I hate you even more. I hate you that I love you so much," Kei whispered between their kiss.
"I love you too."
And those three simple words from Kota's lips were all Kei ever asking for. Nothing could be more perfect as they kissed for the fourth times.
. . .
Kei smiled while seeing the test result on the information board; as usual he got the perfect scores for the exam. That time all goals he had were accomplished, with Kota stood there beside him.
"Shall we go?" the lanky boy asked. With a determined nod he replied, reaching out the hand that finally he could reach, from someone whose heart was hooked with his own.
. . .
“Finally!!” Daiki breathed out in relieved.
“Finally what?” Yuya asked. Daiki nudged Yuya pointing the direction where Kei and Kota stood next to each other, holding hands.
“Yokatta ne,” Yuya smiled at the scene.
“Let's go!” Daiki said pulling Yuya's hand.
“Where to?”
“Date Yuya.. I miss you!”
“Their whining and complains lessened our mutual time. Let’s go!!!”

A/N:
This is the very first time i took part in co-written fic, and a bit nervous all the time writing. the unforgettable thing is, ALL of us broke the basic rules for posting up to 5 sentences each turn, lol. Probably it's because we were so damned excited right XDD. For Gaii, Cwitt and Pink, otsukare~!! -Ruka-
Thank you for Ruka, Pink, and Cwit who were willing to bear with this crazy idea of mine. So, if this fic is a failure, all the blame goes to me XDD. That fic above was written by four people without firstly settling the plot. We just set the pairing and the genre. How was that? Do you feel the gap in each sentence in the fic? hope the readers would like this fic though, comments and critics are welcome. -Gaii-
I was initially hesitant to join in this project when Rucchi invited me, this is my very first time joining co written. I'm afraid I will just mess up everything but three of them are so great, cover my failed one with their good one. Hope you all will enjoy reading this because we are really enjoy writing this . For Rucchi, Gaii and Cwitt you all saikou~!! -Pink-
First time gaii invited me to join this project, I feel like whoooaa, I'll write fic with three great authors and I'm not so confident with my own, the failed part in this fic mostly written by me, gomen *bows*, but I hope you enjoyed the rest of this fic... it's really fun writing this with Ruka, Gaii, and Pink. I hope there will be more projects in the near future, lol... Otsukare minna... *group hugs*. -Cwitt-
