To brighten my days I go on eBay once in a while and bid on very inexpensive GACKT items. I enjoy the thrill of the bidding wars and I only go up to a max of $5 or $10 (depending on the item) including shipping costs. I recently got some very amazing acquisitions from this practice. I got an almost mint condition magazine from 2003 with G on the cover for a grand total of $0.99 and a GIGANTIC well-loved, well-cared for collection of magazine clippings from Malice Mizer days through about 2002 for just under ten bucks. The Malice Mizer stuff is so freakin' beautiful! It goes as far back as 1996, but all the pages are in perfect shape. My new task is to find a way to organize them and keep them that way. The Malice Mizer stuff tugs particularly hard at my heart strings because it makes me so nostalgic for my days as a high school goth kid.
Today's package was a December Love Song single (2003 with the Chinese version) that I got for a couple bucks. I put it on when I got in from work after Duckie picked me up. Now, we have a very peculiar relationship with this song. To an onlooker, you might think we were mocking it, but we actually adore it! And having so many versions, it's just fabulous for sing-alongs! I can't tell you how many nights we drove around snowy Binghamton singing the English version, mispronunciations and all! But today we ended up dancing around our living room just being silly and huggy as we listened to GACKT and Leehom croon for us. What a lovely way to welcome December!
