2. Do you remember the first time you heard this song?
I think I first heard this song in 2006. My jrock loves at the time were L'Arc~en~Ciel and Asian Kung-Fu Generation. GACKT was growing on my radar and I was enjoying a smattering of his songs that a friend had sent me. Fragrance was among them and it has been a favorite ever since.
3. Do you have any special memories associated with this song?
I use this song to relax and center myself. I fall asleep to it when I'm stressed and use it often as background music for intense and intimate moments. So I guess these are my associations.
4. Do you see anything in your head when you hear this song? Colors? Images? A story?
I think of rain and water and the moon, of course. I see moonlit bodies of water. I guess I don't see a straight narrative per say, but I associate the moon with things that are feminine and powerful and the song has a quiet, introspective, and worshipful quality to it. A story could certainly come of that.
And since I got my tattoo I sometimes see the kana and kanji floating on my arm, as if they were floating on the surface of almost still water.

I fell in love with this song before I ever saw a live performance of it. I wasn't even aware of how notorious those performances are. This was the first one I ever watched and I remember it was like 3am and I was getting ready to go to bed. Well... I didn't end up getting to bed until after 4 because I watched it over and over again about a dozen times. (^^#)
