Single and Lonely

I often wonder what the thought process is, too. Of course, that last ad screams 'desperate'.

It's the same reason I never went to pubs/bars to 'meet people'. The only people I ever saw in those places were drunk and generally loud and smelly. Why would I want to date someone drunk, loud and smelly? Or someone who *likes* to get drunk, loud and smelly?

But, to each his own, I suppose. *sigh*

The saddest thing is if you look at that link, you can see that people post the same ad day after day, or slight variations on it. Who gets that attached to someone they see for a few minutes on the train?

There is a nice pub near me where it is often quiet, or sometimes they have jazz music, and you can read a book sitting on a comfy sofa. That is the type of place where I can see myself meeting someone intresting that likes books, and sofas.

"or sometimes they have jazz music"

Sounds nice :)

"That is the type of place where I can see myself meeting someone intresting that likes books, and sofas."

As opposed to wanting to meet someone who likes throwing up on train platforms? I could see how that would be unattractive to the majority but maybe the lady (I use that word vaguely in this instance) mentioned in the ad finds that sexy! Maybe it wasn't the actual being sick, but the stylish way in which he carried out the action.

We have cafes here that have book-friendly sofas and live music. Books and sofas are wonderful, aren't they? I had no idea that there were nice quiet pubs that had them, though! When I lived in Wales, I believe there were only two pubs near where I lived, and they were both smelly and gross...so I never went back. Finchley must be a great place to live! (Plus, it's in England...ahem...)

My housemate, Laia, met her former partner on a train. Their relationship lasted quite some time too. It only reached the end of the line a few weeks ago.

Haha! The end of the line! Who blew the whistle on the relationship in the end? Did you see any signals? And what caused it to jump the tracks.

Apparently the train driver wasn't keen on slowing down his big engine for kinks on the track and some kind of accident ensued.
