The Cadence Problem Solved, well sort of!

I got the cadence monitor working yesterday by dint of a big surge but then had to take the detector off to take the bike for the weekly supermarket run (with trailer). So I was not very hopeful this morning when I started my run and, sure enough, it didn't work. However, halfway round I remembered the effect of a surge so I surged an it came back! So I have a work round; I need to set off in a low gear and a flurry of legs!

This particular training programme (HE14) has a maximum slope of 5% which equates to 1 in 20 (I think) so it's as steep as the climb up from the Tal-y-bont reservoir on the Lon Las and I'm doing it a cadence of around 63 on my middle chain ring and 2 or 3 gears from the bottom. This is a big improvement on last year's run. I doubt I could keep it up for 8Km though.
